Match Rules for Households
You can add only one match rule to a ruleset when configuring household matching in Data 360 identity resolution. Each unified household contains one or more individuals. We recommend matching individuals into households based on either last name and address or on party identifier.
Individuals can be matched into multiple households. For example, an individual with two street addresses can be matched into two different households based on each street address.
Match Households on Last Name and Address
This match rule allows matching on last name and geographical address. To use this rule, select the Fuzzy Name and Normalized Address default match rule.
- (Fuzzy - Medium Precision) Individual.Last Name AND
- (Exact Normalized) ContactPointAddress.Address Line 1 AND
- (Fuzzy - Medium Precision) City AND
- (Exact Normalized) Country
Match Households on Party Identifiers
If your source data includes strong identifiers, consider creating a match rule based on party identifiers. Matching on party identifier lets you match individuals into groups based on a commonality other than name address.
Here are a few useful party identifiers if you have strong data governance practices in place for your party identification data.
- Match car owners based on vehicle identification number (VIN)
- Match loan applicants based on loan application number
- Match event attendees based on ticket order number
This match rule allows matching based on party identification. To use this rule, create a custom match rule with these criteria.
- (Exact Match) Party Identification.Identification Number
