Data 360 Licenses, Billing, and Limits
How you pay for data services provided by Data 360 depends on how your Data 360 org is licensed. Your licenses determine both billing method and limits for your org. We recommend working with your account exec before buying Data 360 or when your contract renews to ensure your license is the best choice based on your usage and growth potential.
All Data 360 licenses are add-ons to a Salesforce org license. Contact your account executive for a list of Salesforce org licenses that Data 360 can be added onto.
All orgs in a Data 360 cluster, including the primary production Home org, sandbox orgs created from it, its Data Cloud One Companion orgs, and their sandboxes, must all use the same type of Data 360 licenses. Data 360 license are managed by the production Home org, which is billed for data processing workloads generated by its sandboxes and companion orgs.
Features powered by Data 360 including Agentforce and Agentforce Employee Agent, are billed for Data 360 services depending on the org’s Data 360 license type.
Data Cloud License
- License: This license is available for purchase and renewal. A variety of add-ons can be used with this license, including real-time profile processing and data governance features. See Data 360 Editions and Licenses.
- Billing: Orgs using the Data Cloud license are billed based on consumption of data storage and data services in a variety of usage types. Depending on which credits your org purchases, credits are decremented from either the Data Services or Flex Credits consumption card. See Data Services Billable Usage Types for Data 360.
- Limits: Data Cloud orgs must adhere to specific limits for some features. See Data 360 Limits and Guidelines.
Data 360 Profiles License
- License: This license is an add-on to the Data Cloud license. It changes billing and limits for some data services. See Data 360 Profiles License Billing and Limits.
- Billing: Orgs with this add-on license aren’t billed for batch data transforms, identity resolution rulesets, segments, and batch calculated insights. Credits continue to be decremented from the Data Services or Flex Credits card for all other types of usage. See Data 360 Profiles License Billing Considerations.
- Limits: Limits for data transforms, unified profiles, segments, and insights are determined by which Data 360 Profile license you purchase. You can purchase higher limits for data transforms, segments, and insights. However, the number of identity resolution rulesets you can create is determined by the base Data 360 Profile license and can’t be increased. See Data 360 Profiles License Base License Limits.
Customer Data Platform (CDP) License
- License: This license is no longer available for purchase or renewal.
- Billing: Orgs using the Customer Data Platform license are billed based on the number of profiles, segment publishes, and engagement events their org completes. To understand billing calculations, see Customer Data Platform Billable Usage Calculations.
- Limits: Customer Data Platform orgs must adhere to specific limits for most features. Some Data 360 features aren’t available to orgs with this license type. To review limits, see Customer Data Platform Limits and Guidelines.
- Data 360 Editions and Licenses
Data 360 is available in several supported Salesforce editions. Some Data 360 features also require additional licenses. - Data 360 Reportable Resource References
Resource references are standard usage tags that let you view your credit consumption by the feature that generated the usage. You can build custom Data 360 reports on resource types to view, filter, and sort your usage by its source. - Data Space References in Standard Consumption Tags
Filter and group reports about your Data 360 consumption usage by data space. - Reduce Credit Consumption in Data 360
You can reduce the number of credits consumed by Data 360 data services by updating settings on features such as data streams, data transforms, identity resolution, and more. For most features, reducing the amount of data processed or the frequency of processing reduces costs. - Billing Impact of Data 360–Powered Features
Some Salesforce CRM features are powered by Data 360 data. These features impact Data Services Credit consumption by increasing usage of associated processes in Data 360 (such as querying, storage, processing, and analytics). Before configuring Data 360-powered features, review feature and usage documentation. Contact your account executive to understand how features impact Data Services Credit consumption in Data 360. - Data Cloud License Billing and Limits
Adding a Data Cloud license enables Data 360 on a Salesforce org. Orgs with this license purchase consumption credits which are consumed by use of Data 360 services. - Data 360 Profiles License Billing and Limits
Data 360 Profiles and Data 360 Enterprise Profiles licenses can be added on to Data Cloud licenses to change how a Data 360 org is billed and limited. When a Data 360 org has this license, its unified profiles, segments, data transforms, and insights are limited but don't consume credits. - Customer Data Platform License Billing and Limits
Customers with this license have access to Data 360 on a Salesforce org. This license is no longer available for purchase and can't be renewed. Orgs with this license are billed based on the numbers of profiles, engagements, and other records in their orgs. Other features have limits. Not all Data 360 features are available on Data 360 orgs with this license.
