Manage Data Returned in Data Graphs

Manage Data Returned in Data Graphs

Use conditions and sort and limit to manage the data that’s included in a data graph. Conditions control which records are included based on conditions, while child record limits control how many related child records are returned. Together, these features reduce storage, improve performance, and include only the most relevant data. The sort and limit and condition filters can be applied together for better performance.

          Required Editions

Available in: All Editions supported by Data 360. See Data 360 edition availability.

By enforcing a configurable limit on child records per parent, you ensure a stable and predictable data graph. Setting limits on child records also offers greater control and customization, allowing you to specify the selection order (ascending or descending) based on any field. You can alsoset the maximum number of child records, up to 1000, or use the default value of 100. This enhancement provides a scalable and user-friendly solution for managing cardinality and maintaining performance in complex data graph environments. Additionally, for engagement category DMOs, you have access to Recency filter options that allow sorting records based on a time limit.

          Filters in Data Graphs

Use filters to limit the data returned in a data graph. Filters reference fields from the selected Data Model Objects (DMOs). Use the field names displayed in the Fields tab.

          Note
Note When multiple filter conditions are applied, the system combines them using AND logic.

          Supported Operators

          Operator Description
Equals Returns records where the field value is equal to the specified value.
Does Not Equal Returns records where the field value isn't equal to the specified value.
Less Than Returns records where the field value is less than the specified value.
Greater Than Returns records where the field value is greater than the specified value.
Less Than or Equal To Returns records where the field value is less than or equal to the specified value.
Greater Than or Equal To Returns records where the field value is greater than or equal to the specified value.
Contains Returns records where the field value contains the specified substring.
Does Not Contain Returns records where the field value doesn’t contain the specified substring.
Starts With Returns records where the field value begins with the specified substring.
Ends With Returns records where the field value ends with the specified substring.

Limit Child Records in Data Graphs

If too many records in a Data Model Objects (DMO) cause performance issues in a data graph, you can limit the number of child records associated with the DMO.
