Create a Semantic Model from a Tableau Published Data Source (PDS)
Connect Tableau Published Data Sources (PDS) directly to the Semantic Layer to explore Tableau Next using your existing Tableau content, without any data or metadata migration.
This integration allows you to create a semantic model in Data 360 by connecting it directly to a Published Data Source (PDS) in Tableau Cloud. The PDS serves as the external data definition and query source for the semantic model.
This feature is available for Tableau Next customers only.
- Set Up Trust Between Salesforce and Tableau Cloud
To create a semantic model from a PDS, you’ll first need to establish a trusted connection between your Salesforce org and Tableau Cloud site. - Connect a Published Data Source (PDS) to a New Semantic Model
Once a trusted connection between your Salesforce org and Tableau Cloud site is configured, you can create a model in the Data 360 Semantic Layer by connecting to the appropriate PDS. - Refresh a Semantic Model Created from a Published Data Source (PDS)
