Global Filters in Tableau Semantics
Create global filters to ensure that all reports share the same focused, consistent baseline data. By restricting data at the model level, you filter out irrelevant records before they reach any downstream visualization.
For example, a global filter where Account Type equals Customer automatically excludes prospects and vendors from all queries.
Global filters are designed for data relevance. To filter out sensitive information for security purposes, use Data Cloud policies instead.
- Create a Global Filter
Create a global filter in your semantic model to get a focused view of your data. The semantic model applies the global filter before any other filters that are manually added. - Edit or Delete a Global Filter
You can modify or delete a filter in your semantic model. - Combine Multiple Global Filters
If you want to use more than one global filter, configure the relationship between them to control how they work together.
