Row Count in Tableau Semantics
Use the auto-generated row count measure to track the number of records in a data object. Include row counts in calculated fields for further analysis, reporting, or metrics. The row count automatically adjusts when you add filters or change the dimensions.
A data analyst can use the row count measure to compare the number of rows before and after a filter or change to make sure that data hasn’t been lost or removed in error.
When creating a report on customer orders, a business user can use the row count measure to show how many orders meet certain criteria, such as status or region. As filters are applied to the report, the row count reflects the updated total.
