          Using Consent Preferences in Segmentation

Learn more about how to use consent preferences in segmentation in Data 360.

If you’re using custom DMOs or attributes to store consumer consent preferences in Data 360, use them as filter criteria when creating a segment.

          Tip
Tip We recommend that consent preferences be mapped to objects from the Privacy Data Model but they can be mapped to custom objects as well.

For example, Northern Trail Outfitters created a segment of individuals who opted into email communication and haven’t opted out of promotions. They use the Consent Status attributes as filter criteria to ensure their segment honors individuals' consent preferences.
