View Filter and Container Level Counts

Use the population counts displayed in the ribbon under each filter or container to evaluate their impact on your segment. Filter-level counts apply to direct attributes; container-level counts apply to related attributes (containers). Counts are available on both the Include and Exclude tabs.

          Required Editions

Available in: All Editions supported by Data 360. See Data 360 edition availability.
          Permission Sets Needed
          To create a container:

          One of these permission sets:

          • Data Cloud Architect
          • Data Cloud Activation Manager
          • Data Cloud Activation Specialist
          1. Go to the Segments tab, select the segment, then click Edit Rules.
          2. Click Include or Exclude. Each tab can have up to 50 filters.
          3. Each filter (direct attribute) or container (related attributes) shows a population count in a ribbon below it. Initially, the ribbon displays Calculate population. Click the refresh icon to run and view the count.

While the count runs, the ribbon shows Calculating population…. . When it finishes, the ribbon shows Population (the number of records that match the criteria in that block). Click the refresh icon to update. If you use approximate count, the ribbon shows approximate population.

If the count fails, the ribbon shows Population count failed. Use the error icon to view details and retry. A failed filter or container count doesn’t block saving, publishing, or segment counting.

Counts return to Calculate population if you refresh the segment, edit that filter or container, or leave the segment builder.

You can see the impact of each filter and container on the segment and adjust rules as needed.
