Considerations for Archiving a Site

Considerations for Archiving a Site

Before you archive a site, consider what types of sites can be archived, and the impact that archiving might have on users.

Required Editions

Available in: Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions
Applies to: LWR, Aura, and Visualforce sites
  • You can’t archive these LWR-based site types, even if they’re inactive: Marketing Landing Page sites (LWR sites used to host marketing landing pages) and LWR sites that use Experience Delivery.
  • You can only archive inactive sites. If your site is in Preview, you must activate and then deactivate the site before archiving it.
  • When you archive a site,
    • The site’s URL is unavailable to all users, including admins.
    • Instead of the site, users see a Site under maintenance page.
    • You can’t access the site’s Experience Builder or Workspaces.
    • The site doesn’t count against your org’s maximum 100 unarchived site limit.
Note
Note If you decide to unarchive a site keep the following in mind:
  • Sites archived for longer than 3 release are out of date and may have unexpected performance when unarchiving.
  • To function correctly, unarchived LWR sites must be republished before they get the latest version of the site.
