Set Up Care Request Configurations
Create care request configuration records for different types of care requests such as PreAuthorization, Admission, Drug Request or Service Request. Associate each configuration with a record type.

To enable your users to manage authorization requests, ensure you’ve created a record type named PreAuthorization in each of these objects: Case, Care Request, Care Request Extension, Care Request Item, Care Diagnosis, and Care Request Drug.
- From Setup, enter Care Request Settings in the Quick Find box, then select Care Request Settings.
- Click New Care Request Configuration.

Enter the following:
Field Description Label Name of the care request as it appears in user interface. Name The unique name used by the API and managed packages. Care Request Record Type The record type for the care request. To ensure correct results, use the exact spelling of the API name of the record type you’re using.
Default record type Record type that is used as the default. Care Request Type Type of care request. For example, Appeal, Service request, or Admission.
Each care request type must have a unique default record type.
Care Request Records The list of available objects used to configure the care request. The possible values are: CareDiagnosis, CareRequestDrug, CareRequestItem, and CareRequestExtension.
Active Select to activate this configuration and make it available to users. - Save your changes.
