Set Up Person Accounts to Represent Health Cloud Members and Patients

Set Up Person Accounts to Represent Health Cloud Members and Patients

Person accounts store information about specific people by combining certain account and contact fields into a single record. In Health Cloud, always model your patients or members as person accounts. You can’t fully use Health Cloud functionality if you don’t model your patients and members as person accounts. We also strongly recommend person accounts for providers who are their own independent entity with practicing rights at a number of locations.

          • Enable Contacts to Relate to Multiple Accounts
Relate a single contact to multiple accounts so you can easily track the relationships between people and organizations. For example, a care provider who is represented as a contact can be related to an organization's primary account as well as to a patient’s person account record.
          • Enable Person Accounts for Use in Health Cloud
Enable person accounts so that you can use them to represent patients, members, and providers in your Health Cloud org.
          • Create Page Layouts and Record Types for Patients and Providers
Create multiple record types to offer different business processes, picklist values, and page layouts to different users. For example, differentiate your patient records from your provider records by creating a record type for patient accounts and a record type for provider accounts. You can configure page layouts and assign them to each record type to show different data for your patient versus your provider.
