          Set Up Provider Search in Health Cloud

          To set up Provider Search, first ensure your data is ready. Then you can give users access to the right fields and enable the necessary features in Setup. After that you can configure your users’ search experience.

          • Enable Data Pipelines for Provider Search
            Provider Search uses the Data Processing Engine to transform data from your provider and facility records to a searchable object. Assign the Data Pipelines Base User permission set to the Health Cloud user enabling Provider Search, and then enable Data Pipelines.
          • Enable Provider Search
            Give internal users and Experience Cloud site users access to Provider Search. Follow guided setup steps that walk you through setting up facilities and practitioners, configuring Criteria-Based Search and Filter, and enabling optional features.
          • Set Up Data for Provider Search
            Create records for practitioners and facilities that contain the basic information your users need in provider search results.
          • Synchronize Provider Search Data Manually
            The standard Data Processing Engine (DPE) definition automatically updates the Care Provider Searchable Field records used for Provider Search one time per day. If you’re testing your setup and don’t want to wait for the automatic data sync, use the on-demand manual data sync.
          • Standard Fields Used in Provider Search
            The Care Provider Searchable Field object stores data from the Healthcare Provider and Healthcare Practitioner Facility objects. It improves the speed and scalability of allowing users to search for providers.
          • Configure Provider Search for Users
            Add the Provider Search Lightning component to record pages and configure search actions so users can easily copy and create a report of search results.
          • Configure Provider Search with Criteria-Based Search and Filter
            By using Provider Search with Criteria-Based Search and Filter, you can configure custom search criteria, search result filters, and the search result display. You can also customize search result actions. Users can search across a richer set of data and then copy records, create a report, and initiate a referral flow directly from search results.
          • Control Provider Search Data with Custom Data Transformations
            You can refine the searchable data used for Provider Search by configuring a custom Data Processing Engine (DPE) definition tailored to your business needs. For example, build a DPE definition that generates searchable data only for healthcare facilities, not healthcare practitioners. Your custom DPE definition can sync data to Care Provider Searchable Field records or to custom searchable object records.
