Set Up Your Back-End Scheduling System

Set Up Your Back-End Scheduling System

Intelligent Appointment Management uses data such as provider availability when you book and manage patient appointments. You can store this data in Salesforce Scheduler or in an external scheduling system.

          • Create a Named Credential for Scheduling
Create a named credential for your back-end scheduling system. You can use the same named credential for both an external scheduling system and Salesforce Scheduler.
          • Create Work Type Code Set Bundles for Scheduling
When you set up Intelligent Appointment Management, work type code set bundles map visit types to code set bundles, which describe the work in the scheduling system.
          • Set Up Salesforce Scheduler
You can book and manage patient appointments by using Salesforce Scheduler with Intelligent Appointment Management. Set up the data required to schedule providers and assets, such as service territories and resources, shifts and operating hours, and engagement channels ,
          • Set Up an External Scheduling System
You can book and manage appointments by connecting to an external electronic health record (EHR) system that aligns with Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR). Set up the data required to track open appointment time slots in Salesforce, but don’t duplicate data such as territories and shifts from your external system. Then configure settings for linking Health Cloud to the external scheduling system.
