Vehicle Telematics Orchestration Templates

Make sure you have the following features enabled to use the orchestration template records and their related configurations.

• Vehicle Connected Services
  

  Note To use the template for connected assets, enable Asset Connected Services.

• Context Definitions

Make sure the Connected Services Active check box is selected for the vehicle records for which you process the events and use the orchestration.

Note If you are using an org that was provisioned before Spring '25, add the Context Definition Name, Context Mapping Name, and Execution Procedure Name fields to the Actionable Event Orchestration record page layout. Remove the Context Definition, Context Mapping, and Execution Procedure fields from the page layout because these fields don't support file-based records.

• Set Up the Create Records For Asset Registration Event Orchestration
  When a connected vehicle is onboarded to Salesforce, businesses can automatically create key records—including web and phone service entitlements, milestones, and warranties for the vehicle and its child assets. The Create Records for Asset Registration template streamlines first-time registration by leveraging predefined configurations like context definitions, mappings, and flow templates. When a telematics event, such as a customer using a vehicle for the first time, occurs, the system captures input attributes and instantly generates essential records without requiring users to build complex business logic from scratch.
• Set Up the Update Records For Asset Registration Event Orchestration
  As vehicles continue to generate telematics data, businesses can automatically update existing records using the Update Records for Asset Registration orchestration template. The template’s related configurations—including context definitions, mappings, flow templates, and event types—ensure that when a relevant event occurs, input attributes are passed to the application, triggering seamless record updates. Modifications such as warranty upgrades, support entitlement changes, and milestone status updates based on real-time external data are automatically applied. This eliminates the need for manual intervention and custom development.
• Set Up the Schedule Service Appointments for Actionable Events Orchestration
  Set up an orchestration process that automatically schedules a service appointment based on an event, such as engine malfunction, vehicle fault, or transmission issues. Configure the flow, context definition, and actionable event orchestration related to this process or customize and extend the process. The prebuilt orchestration process searches for all service territories within 20 miles of a vehicle's current latitude and longitude coordinates, matches the fault type with the type of service required, and finds the list of time slots and technicians available for an appointment.
