          Do More Using the Events and Milestones Component in Automotive Cloud

          The Events and Milestones Lightning component helps dealer executives and sales personnel to view key milestones and moments for a financial account, vehicle, account, or contact. Customize the event or milestone records that users create to provide enhanced user experience. Help users to quickly initiate actions, such as logging a call or creating an order directly from a milestone or event. Or, control the type of information that users see when they hover on a milestone or event. You can also mark certain life events and business milestones as unique.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Editions.
          User Permissions Needed
          To customize Person Life Events, Business Milestones, and Asset Milestones: Customize Application
          1. To create contextual actions for events and milestones, perform these steps:
            1. From Setup, open Object Manager, and in the Quick Find box, enter Person Life Event, Business Milestone, or Asset Milestone.
            2. Click Buttons, Links, and Actions, and then click New Action.
            3. In the Action Type list, select the type of action that you want to create, such as Create a Record.
            4. In the Target Object list, select the type of object record the action creates, such as a case or an opportunity.
              Note
              Note If Action Plans is enabled in your instance, the New Action Plan action is, by default, available for all events and milestones.
            5. Enter a label for the action.
              Users see this label as the name of the action.
            6. Save your changes.
            7. Click Page Layouts, and then select the appropriate page layout.
            8. On the palette, select Mobile & Lightning Actions.
            9. Drag the action onto the Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience Actions section.
            10. Save your changes.
          2. To choose fields to show on hover, perform these steps:
            1. From Setup, open Object Manager. In the Quick Find box, enter Person Life Event, Business Milestone, or Asset Milestone.
            2. Select Compact Layouts.
            3. Clone the System Default layout, or create a compact layout.
            4. Enter a label for the compact layout, and then add the required fields.
            5. To sort the fields in the order that you want to show, click Up or Down.
              Tip
              Tip We recommend that you include key fields, such as Name, Type, Date, and Stage so that users can find the most important information at a glance.
            6. Save the layout.
            7. Click Compact Layout Assignment, and then click Edit Assignment.
            8. From the Primary Compact Layout list, select your compact layout.
            9. Save your changes.
          3. To mark once-in-a-lifetime events and milestones as unique, perform these steps:
            1. From Setup, open Object Manager. In the Quick Find box, enter Person Life Event, or Business Milestone.
              You can’t mark an asset milestone or a financial account milestone type as unique.
            2. Click Fields & Relationships, and then select Event Type or Milestone Type.
            3. For the picklist value that you want to define as unique, click Edit, and then select Unique.
            4. Save your changes.
