Show Events and Milestones for Relevant Automotive Records

Show Events and Milestones for Relevant Automotive Records

Add the Events and Milestones component to the Account, Contact, or Vehicle record page layouts to surface information about key moments in the lifecycle of these records. You can hide life event and milestone types that you don’t want the dealer executives or sales executives to see. For example, if you add the Events and Milestones component to the Vehicle record page layout that you customized for a Dealer Sales Executive, you can hide milestone types related to repair and maintenance, such as General Service, Car Damage, or Body Repair.

          1. On an Account, Contact, or Vehicle record page, from Setup, select Edit Page.
The component is already added to a Financial Account record page in the Finance Console for Automotive.
          2. Drag the Events and Milestones component to a section on the page.
          3. Select the Events and Milestones component by clicking the component.
          4. In the Properties pane, depending on the record page that you are on—person account, business account, contact, or vehicle—click Select under Hide Event Types or Hide Milestone Types.
          5. Select the event types or milestone types that you want to hide, and then click OK.
When you hide an event or milestone type, the type doesn’t appear on the component until you add an event or milestone of that type.
          6. Save your changes, and then activate the page layout.
          7. Assign the component as org default, and then click Next.
          8. Review the assignments, and then save your changes.
