          Prevent Duplicate Applicant Records

          Maintain high data quality and improve customer experience in vehicle and asset lending by preventing duplicate applicant records. Leverage Duplicate Management and create matching and duplicate rules to ensure accurate customer data.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Editions
          User Permissions Needed
          To create, edit, or delete duplicate rules and matching rules: Customize Application
          To activate and deactivate duplicate rules and matching rules: Customize Application
          To view duplicate rules and matching rules: View Setup and Configuration
          1. Create and activate matching rules for the Applicant object and define your matching criteria to check for duplicate records.
          2. Create duplicate rules to define the actions to be taken when a user tries to create a duplicate applicant record.
          3. Create a custom report type to create reports for viewing the duplicate applicant records.
            1. From Setup, enter Reports in the Quick Find box, then select Report Types.
            2. Click New Custom Report Type.
            3. For Primary Object, search for and select Applicants.
            4. Enter a display label and description for the custom report type.
            5. For Store in Category, select Other Reports.
            6. For Status, select Deployed.
            7. Click Next.
            8. Click (Click to relate another object), then search for and select Duplicate Record Items.
            9. Keep the selection Each "A" record must have at least one related "B" record.
            10. Click Save.
            11. From App Launcher, search for and select Reports.
            12. Click New Report.
            13. Under the Other Reports category, click Start Report for the custom report type you created above.
            14. Click Save and Run.
            15. Enter a report name and save your changes.
