To create fleet assets: Use Fleet Management Features

Make sure you’ve created an Asset and its related Vehicle record before you create a Fleet Asset record.

          1. From the App Launcher, find and select Fleet Assets.
          2. Click New.
          3. Search for and select an Asset.
If the asset is already related to a Vehicle record, the Vehicle field on Fleet Asset gets autopopulated when you save the record.
          4. Search for and select a Fleet.
          5. For Effective Start Date, select the date from when the vehicle is part of a fleet.
          6. For Effective End Date, select the date till when the vehicle is part of a fleet.
          7. For Status, select one of the following values:
            • Registered
            • Active
            • Assigned
            • Under Maintenance
            • Out of Service
            • Inactive

The Active Asset Count field on a Fleet record only considers Fleet Asset records that are in the Active status.

          8. Click Save.

After you save the record, the following fields are automatically populated based on values derived from the related Vehicle record. To see the values, make sure that the Vehicle record associated with the Fleet Asset record has the Last Odometer Reading, Odometer Reading Unit of Measure, and Latest Residual Value fields populated.

          • Vehicle Distance Covered
          • Vehicle Distance Covered Unit of Measure
          • Residual Value
