Create Custom Permission Sets for Automotive Scheduler
Create a custom permission set for service technicians and service agents so that they
can be selected as service resources for an appointment. Create another custom permission set for
external users to provide access to OmniScripts, DataRaptors, and FlexCards so that they can
schedule appointments from an Experience Cloud site.
Required Editions
Available in: Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer
Editions.
User Permissions Needed
To assign permission sets to users:
Manage Users
Make sure that you have the OmniStudio Runtime for Communities, and the Salesforce Scheduler
licenses provisioned for your org.
To let a user be defined as a service resource for an appointment, follow these
steps:
From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Permission, and then
select Permission Sets.
Click New.
For Label, enter a meaningful name such as Service Resource
Permission.
For License, select Salesforce Scheduler.
Click Save.
Click System Permissions and click
Edit.
Select Enabled for Let a user be included in appointments in
Salesforce Scheduler.
Users in the org who are assigned this permission set can be set up as service
resources and can be linked to a service appointment.
Click Save.
Click Manage Assignments.
Click Add Assignments.
Select the checkboxes next to the user records, and click
Assign.
Click Done.
To provide an external user access to the components for the appointment scheduling flow,
follow these steps:
From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Permission, and then
select Permission Sets.
Click New.
For Label, enter a meaningful name such as OmniStudio Runtime Access for
Customers and Partners.
For License, select OmniStudio Runtime for Communities.
Click Save.
Click System Permissions and click
Edit.
Select Enabled for Enables consumers and partners to execute
OmniScripts, DRs, and Cards through a Community or off platform.
Customer or partner users who are assigned this permission set can access the
OmniStudio components that power the appointment scheduling flow.
Click Save.
Click Manage Assignments.
Click Add Assignments.
Select the checkboxes next to the user records, and click
Assign.
Click Done.
