Set Up Users and Permissions for Automotive Cloud

Set Up Users and Permissions for Automotive Cloud

Learn about the provided permission set licenses for Automotive Cloud. Create user profiles and user records, then assign permission sets to users.

          Required Editions

Available in: Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Editions
          • Create User Profiles and Users for Automotive Cloud
Profiles define how users access objects and data, and what they can do within the application. Each person who uses the application is a User record. Automotive Cloud doesn't provide default profiles but you can clone any standard profile and customize it as required. You could create role-specific profiles, such as Dealer Sales Executives for all sales executives in a dealership. Keep in mind that each user can only be assigned one profile.
          • Assign Permission Set Licenses to Automotive Cloud Users
Assign permission sets to manage users’ access to objects, fields, and the apps. With permission set licenses, you can give users access to features beyond those included in their basic user licenses. Permission sets only grant access, they can’t take it away. You can assign multiple permission sets to a user.
          • Sharing Settings for Automotive Cloud Objects
Review the organization-wide default sharing settings to understand the minimum level of access for each object in Automotive Cloud. You can extend the default level of access to your users, both internal and external. You can, of course, also use permission sets, sharing rules, role hierarchies, or Experience Cloud site sharing sets to fine-tune access beyond the organization-wide default options.
