Create Telemetry Action Definition Steps and Add Step Attributes
Create telemetry action definition steps within groups to specify details of the action performed in telemetry action definition for different components. The maximum limit of steps across all groups is 20.

- From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter and select Telemetry Definition and Action Management.
- Go to the Action Definition tab.
- Open your telemetry definition action record.
- Click New Group with Step.
- Enter a group name, API name, and label.

Enter a Target Component Path.
- Open the latest version of your telemetry definition from the Latest Version column on the Telemetry Definition Tab.
- Click Show enhanced view.
- Click on the target component path you want to create an action for.
- Click on the Copy Path icon from the Component Properties tab.
- Paste this copied path in the Target Component Path field.
- Enter your remote end point URL.
- For operation type, select retrieve or submit based on your action.
- Click Next.
- Select your telemetry action definition step attributes and enter relevant display labels for them.

Save your changes.
Select at least one actuator attribute for a submit operation to save your telemetry action definition step or step group.
- Click New Step to add more steps to your group.
Example
The admin at Neo Motors defines a new group for her telemetry action definition with steps for the passenger doors of a connected car and attributes for submit and retrieve operations. She specifies the following details:
