          Turn On Sequential Numbering Features

          Apply unique, gapless sequence numbers to transaction records to ensure financial compliance and a clear audit trail. You can also mandate assigning an invoice number to every posted invoice.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience
          Available in: Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions with the Revenue Cloud Billing license. Contact your Salesforce account executive for more information.
          User Permissions Needed
          To enable Billing features: Billing Admin permission set
          1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Billing, and then select Billing Settings.
          2. In the Configure Gapless Sequential Numbering for Billing section, click Sequential Numbering Settings.
          3. Turn on Sequential Numbering.
          4. Return to the Billing Settings page.
          5. To make sure that every posted invoice is assigned an invoice number, turn on Mandate Sequence Policy for Posted Invoices.
          6. To make sure that every posted credit memo is assigned a credit memo number, turn on Mandate Sequence Policy for Posted Credit Memos.

          After you turn on sequential numbering features, you or your Billing Operations Users can configure sequential numbering for invoices.
