          Create a Visit Template

          Use visit templates to control visit rules and create types of visits. The visit icons visible on mobile devices depend on the meta type that you select during visit creation.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience

          Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions that have Consumer Goods Cloud enabled

          User Permissions Needed
          To create a visit template:

          CGCloud Business Admin

          OR

          CGCloud Retail Business Admin

          1. From the App Launcher, find and select Visit Templates, and then click New.
          2. Provide these details:
            Field Description
            Identification
            Visit Template Name Name of a visit template.
            Active Indicates whether a call template is active. You can use only active templates to create visits.
            Meta Type

            Meta type of a template. The options are:

            • Call
            • Delivery Visit
            • Van Sales
            • Merchandising
            • Service
            • Phone
            Sales Org Sales org of a visit template.
            User Roles User roles that you assign to a visit template. Only the users with the roles added in a visit template can use the visit template to create calls.
            Auto Status

            The status that's assigned to a visit that's created by using a visit template during automatic visit planning. The options are:

            • Planned
            • Completed
            • Abandoned
            Owner Owner of a visit template. The field is auto-populated with the user who creates the visit template. You can transfer the ownership to another user.
            Language Description
            Description Language 1/2/3/4 Description of a visit template in the languages configured for the sales org.
            General
            Default Duration Default visit duration in minutes.
            Company Required

            Determines whether a visit is customer-related or customer-independent. The options are:

            • Not Required: You can create a visit without a customer.
            • Mandatory: You can’t create a visit without a customer.

            The configuration is relevant when you create non-customer visits, such as private calls.

            Check Overlap Indicates whether to check for overlaps when you create calls. If you select this option, the system checks if a current visit overlaps with any other visits. The Check Overlap field validates visits that overlap only during automatic visit planning in the desktop app. This setting doesn’t apply to the mobile app nor for any other planning option. Only visits in Planned state are considered.
            Add Job Policy

            Indicates whether you can manually add tasks and survey questions to visits.

            The Consumer Goods Cloud Offline mobile app doesn't use this field. It's used only in the Consumer Goods Cloud desktop or online mobile app.

            Display Promotions Indicates whether valid promotions for the customer selected for a visit creation are shown in the Promotions tab of the Visit Detail page.
            Sort Alphanumeric definition that sorts the visit templates when you create visits using a mobile device.
            Creation Platform

            Platform that you can use a visit template on. The options are:

            • Both: To create visits from the Consumer Goods Cloud offline mobile app or the Consumer Goods Cloud app.
            • Mobility: To create visits from only the Consumer Goods Cloud offline mobile app.
            • Laptop: To create visits from only the Consumer Goods Cloud app.
            Promotion Finding Lead Time

            Number of days to consider for finding future promotions to include in a visit. Promotions that are valid for the period are calculated as Visit Start Date + Promotion Finding Lead Time. These promotions appear in a visit.

            Note
            Note Only promotions that have at least one tactic valid during the calculated time appear in a visit.
            Sync Options

            Defines the sync settings for a visit. The options are:

            • No: Visits aren't immediately synced through background sync.
            • Complete Call: Completed visits are immediately synced through background sync.
            • Cancel Call: Canceled visits are immediately synced through background sync.
            • Complete and Cancel Call: Canceled and completed visits are immediately synced through background sync.
            Mobility Relevant Indicates whether a visit that you created can be used on mobile devices.
            Mobility User Guidance Process navigation that's used when you execute a visit on mobile devices.
            Mobility Color This visit template uses color is to highlight visits in the calendar on mobile devices.
            KPI Relevant Identifies the KPIs to capture during a visit.
            Deletion or Cancellation Related
            Delete Allowed Indicates whether a visit can be deleted. If you select this field, you can delete visits of all status types, except the completed visits.
            Cancel Reason Required Indicates whether the user must provide a reason for visit cancellation.
            Capture Time and Location
            Capture Proceeding Time Indicates whether the duration of a call is measured during call execution.
            Update Planned Times Indicates whether the call time is updated as per the measured time.
            Location Capture at Cancel Indicates whether the user's GPS location is recorded during visit cancellation.
            Location Capture at Complete Indicates whether GPS coordinates are stored when you complete a call.
            Survey Related
            Historical Products

            Determines whether and how historical products are considered when determining the list of products to be surveyed in a visit:

            • No: Products surveyed in previous visits aren’t considered for a survey.
            • All: Products surveyed in previous visits are considered regardless of the visit template used to create visits.
            • Same Meta: Products surveyed in the previous visits created using the same visit template are considered for the survey.
            Media Related
            Tag Media Date and Time Indicates whether the date and time of media captured during visit execution on mobile devices is stored.
            Tag Media Geo Location Indicates whether GPS coordinates of media captured are stored on a mobile device during visit execution.
            Deviation Threshold Evaluates the deviation between the customer location and the user location when you capture pictures or video.
            Max. Number of Pictures Maximum number of pictures that a user can capture and attach to a visit. We recommend that you enter a value less than or equal to 10.
