          Indirect Orders

          Indirect Orders

Indirect orders is a mechanism where a sales representative takes an order from the store and the order is fulfilled by the manufacturer’s wholesaler or a distributor.

          Required Editions

At the time of order taking, the sales representative selects an order template that designates the wholesaler as the fulfillment party. This setup is defined within the order template.

In the order header, the default wholesaler associated with the account is automatically populated. If necessary, the sales representative can override and choose a different wholesaler to fulfill the order.

Available in: Lightning Experience in Professional, Enterprise, and Unlimited Editions that have Consumer Goods Cloud enabled

          Configuration and Setup

To enable indirect orders, the following configurations are required:

          • Customer Extension (Order Role): In the Customer Extension settings, the Order Role must be enabled and set to Indirect. This setting defines that the customer's product requirements will be fulfilled by a wholesaler defined under the wholesaler relationship.

          • Order Templates: When configuring an Order Template for indirect orders, administrators should select the option to specify a wholesaler. This ensures the necessary wholesaler fields are available during order creation.

          • Wholesaler Relationship: A valid wholesaler relationship (part of the customer relationships) must be defined in the account to facilitate these orders.
