Use the advanced mapping capabilities in the Consumer Goods Cloud Enhanced data model
for efficient visit planning and route optimization. Enhance your field operations by setting up
and configuring advanced maps based on your custom needs.
Required Editions
Available in: Lightning Experience in Professional, Enterprise, and
Unlimited Editions that have Consumer Goods Cloud enabled.
Prerequisites
The Consumer Goods Cloud Enhanced data model requires the Place ID and Visit Template
fields in the visit object to function correctly. You can't map a source for the Place ID
field from the account object when you configure a custom output object for maps, because
the Place ID field is a special lookup to a retail store, location, or address.
To create visits in the Consumer Goods Cloud offline app by using the enhanced
model, either from core maps schedule or maps advanced visit plans, configure a custom
output object for the schedule, set up custom settings, and then create a record-triggered
flow.
As part of the CG Cloud Managed Package installation process, a Default Location record is automatically
created.
Create a Lookup Relationship To relate the Maps Advanced Waypoint object to Visits via a lookup field, create a lookup relationship.
Configure a Custom Output Object By default, maps are pre-configured only with events and a new calendar object must be added for visits.
Configure a Record Triggered Flow Create a fast record-triggered flow to assign the default visit template and place ID before the visit creation. This approach assumes that you can stamp default values to the Record Id and Visit Template. You can change the custom settings and update this flow accordingly.
