          Route-Based Assignments for Users

          Route-Based Assignments for Users

Manage account manager relationships by using route assignments instead of territorial assignments made through org units or trade org units. Improve the setup and user experience for Consumer Goods Cloud users such as sales representatives and merchandisers. Instead of providing users with a broad set of features and data relevant to an entire region (territory), give them access to task-focused features. With this setup, users can access the features, customer information, and tours they need.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience

Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions where Consumer Goods Cloud is enabled

          Key Considerations for Route-Based Assignments

Consider these requirements for route-based sales representatives.

          • Both the account and the user are assigned to a route. So, be sure account manager relationships are present.
          • Get the new Route Sales synchronization configuration for sales and merchandising routes from Static Resources. The Route Sales synchronization profile synchronizes all accounts and their related data for assigned tours.
          • Route sales users need the CGCloud Retail Route Sales User permission set. This is in addition to the permission sets needed for Retail Execution. See Assign Permission Sets to Managed Package Users.

          Route-Based Sales Representative Capabilities

Here are some activities that a route sales representative can perform.

          • Conduct store and audit activities
          • Perform product surveys (checking out-of-stock, distribution status)
          • Execute asset audits (checking status, position, taking notes)
          • Check promotion compliance in the store
          • Take orders from retailers
          • Inventory overview
          • Start or end tour, and review vehicle details
          • Use sales folders

Route sales representatives can’t check in or check out products. They also can't create and execute van sales orders.

          Implementation and Customization

          • Consumer Goods Cloud doesn't provide an out-of-the-box user interface.
          • Use the sync configuration in your implementation to create a tour-based User Interface (UI). This lets nondrivers conduct tour visits.
          • Use the Visual Studio (VS) Code-based Modeler to customize the user's cockpit. You can customize the user's cockpit by removing or adding cards.
          • Set Up a Route Sales User
Create or clone a user profile to set up a route sales user in Consumer Goods (CG) Cloud. Then assign the route sales user permission set. This setup enables the user to manage and carry out retail store activities using the CG Cloud mobile app.
