Set Up Your Users

Users in your company perform different sets of activities. You can broadly divide your users into three groups: admins, supervisors, and reps. For your users to be able to perform their day-to-day activities, give them permission and access to the appropriate groups.

• Permission Sets for Retail Execution Users
  Consumer Goods Cloud primarily uses managed permission sets as the standard for all users. These permission sets are mandatory and essential for automatic push upgrades, ensuring seamless access after updates. All customers, including those on pre-Summer ’24 versions, must use or migrate to these managed sets. The unmanaged permission sets are listed for historical reference only.
• Maintain Field Permissions on User and System Administrator Profiles
  In managed packages, you can’t package and deploy the field permissions to share Salesforce objects. You can only manually maintain field permissions on Salesforce objects. Without field permissions, when you create an order on a mobile device, the order disappears from the visit agenda and no visit is visible.
• Create a User Accountable Record
  To let users create tasks, create a user accountable record.
• Map a Sales Organization to User
  Assign users to a sales org so that users can use Consumer Goods Cloud. You can assign a user to multiple sales orgs. A user can actively work in only one session of the default sales org and can work only with the data of the default sales org consistently. For example, a user who’s assigned to a sales org and is setting up a new activity can assign the accounts, products, and questions related to that particular sales org only.
• Map a Mobility Sales Organization to a User
  Assign users to the relevant mobility sales org so that your users can sync data from the assigned mobility sales org in the Consumer Goods Cloud offline mobile app.
• Create a User Setting Record
  To personalize the app for a user, create a user settings record. You must create a record for every Consumer Goods offline mobile app user.
