Set up a Supervisor role to manage and monitor the workloads and activities of sales
reps. A supervisor can monitor the users who have the Sales Rep role assigned to them. A sales rep
can create a visit only for themselves whereas a supervisor can create and manage visits for sales
reps in their hierarchy.
Required Editions
Available in: Lightning Experience in Professional, Enterprise, and
Unlimited Editions that have Consumer Goods Cloud enabled.
Prerequisites to Set Up a Supervisor
To set up a supervisor, ensure that your admin has performed these tasks.
Assign the CGCloud_Supervisor permission set to the Supervisor role.
Assign the CGCloud_Sales User permission set to the Sales Rep role.
On the Role Hierarchy page, create the Supervisor and Sales Rep roles, and align the Sales
Rep role to report to the Supervisor role.
Assign users to the Supervisor role.
Assign users to the Sales Rep role.
For supervisors to plan visits for their sales reps, configure the
Organization_Setting.Role Hierarchy Disabled custom setting. For the system to determine the
sales reps for whom the supervisor can create visits, set the value of
Organization_Setting.Role Hierarchy Disabled to No.
Assign sales reps to the same org unit or to an org unit that is lower in hierarchy to that
of the supervisor.
To enable access to the mobile app, map the CGCloud_Supervisor custom permission to the
Supervisor user role. Ensure that the sales rep and supervisor have the same management type.
