          Considerations

          Considerations

Review these important considerations for setting up permission sets.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience

Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions where Consumer Goods Cloud is enabled

          • Unmanaged Permission Sets:
            • The permission sets in the Permission Sets before Summer ’24 table are unmanaged. In the Permission Sets after Summer ’24 table, some permission sets such as CGCloud Retail User are also unmanaged. Unmanaged permission sets upload with the metadata during managed package installation. This occurs during the metadata deployment when you complete the post-installation tasks.
            • After a push upgrade, manually adopt any modified unmanaged permission sets, as noted in the Salesforce Release Notes.
          • Metadata API Risk Mitigation: When you create profiles via Metadata API, there’s a risk of creating profiles without the necessary permissions. To mitigate the risk and to make sure retail users have the necessary tab access for standard objects and user permissions for retail execution activities, if you’re creating profiles via Metadata API version 60 or later, assign the CGCloud Retail Standard User unmanaged permission set to all users in both the new and old permission set tables.
          • Permission Set Customization: You can’t edit the new permission sets. For customized permission sets, clone the existing permission set, apply your changes, and assign it to the relevant users.
          • License Requirements: Before you assign permission sets to a user, make sure that the user has the Consumer Goods User license.
          • Permission Set Groups: Permission Set Groups aren’t supported.
          • Relevant Assignments: Assign only those permission sets that are relevant to the user profile.
