Upgrade the Consumer Goods Cloud Managed Packages

Upgrade the Consumer Goods Cloud Managed Packages

Steps to upgrade the latest Consumer Goods Cloud Mobile Sync and Consumer Goods Cloud Managed packages.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience

Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions where Consumer Goods Cloud is enabled

          User Permissions Needed
          To upgrade the managed package:

          CGCloud Business Admin

          OR

          CGCloud Retail Business Admin

          Note
Note Always test Consumer Goods Cloud packages in your sandbox before moving to production. Reproducing issues in a sandbox speeds up the Salesforce support process. Sandboxes are key for upgrade checks, bug fixes, and ensuring compatibility.

To upgrade the Consumer Goods Cloud Managed package, change the Default Language and Default Locale to English (en_US) for your org.

Remember these points when you upgrade a managed package:

          • All existing custom objects that were previously deployed are still deployed. Salesforce prompts you to deploy any new custom objects or previously undeployed custom objects.
          • The profile settings for components in a package are editable but not upgradeable. Any changes in the profile settings after releasing the package aren’t included in the upgrade. You must manually update the profile settings after you upgrade the package. In contrast, any changes in the permission set in a package are reflected in the customer org after the customer upgrades the package.

The packages include the latest patch releases. Use these links to install or upgrade to the latest version of the packages.

          Note
Note Upgrade the Consumer Good Cloud Mobile Sync package to sync the data between Salesforce and mobile devices. If you don’t want to upgrade the sync package, you can skip steps 1 and 2.
          1. To upgrade Consumer Goods Cloud Mobile Sync, go to http://industries.force.com/cgcloudsync.
          2. To map user profiles with an access level, select Install for Specific Profiles, and click Continue.
The table shows the access level required for the admin profile:

            Important
Important The profiles in packages behave differently during the package installation. When you install a package that contains profiles, the profile itself is never installed directly in the target org but the behavior varies based on how the package is installed. See Limitations for Deploying Profiles with Packages.
