          Add a Unit of Measure

          Add a Unit of Measure

You can define multiple units of measure (UoMs) for each product. Use UoMs to efficiently manage orders for a product and its distribution.

          Required Editions

For order taking, add a UoM of the product as a consumer unit by selecting the unit type as Consumer Unit. Additionally, mark another UoM as an order unit and price unit by selecting the Is Order Unit and Is Price Unit checkboxes.

Available in: Lightning Experience in Professional, Enterprise, and Unlimited Editions that have Consumer Goods Cloud enabled
          User Permissions Needed
          To create a UoM:

          CGCloud Sales User

          OR

CGCloud Retail Sales User AND CGCloud Retail User

          Note
Note Only the products with default UoM—Is Order Unit and Order Ability set to True—are prepopulated in the disposal list in the order items screen. When more than one UoM is marked as default, the UoM is selected based on the sort order assigned.

Add logistical units for a product to:

          • Define a hierarchy of logistical units.
          • Specify packaging and containment of logistical units in parent units.
          • Define attributes for independent logistical units, for example, specify whether a logistical unit is a default order unit of a product.
          • Specify the weight and volume of a product as per predefined units.
          1. From the App Launcher, find and select Products.
          2. Select a product.
          3. On the Units of Measure related tab, click New.
          4. Provide these details:
            Field Description

            Is Order Unit

Indicates whether a UoM is the default order unit of the product.

Products with the default UoM are prepopulated in the disposable list in new orders.

            Rounding Rule

Specifies the rules for rounding of quantities entered while placing an order. You can round off only to the UoM marked as rounding targets. The options are:

            • Never: The ordered quantity isn’t rounded.
            • Up: The ordered quantity is rounded to a full value of the next higher rounding target.
            • Down: The ordered quantity is rounded to a full value of the next lower rounding target.
            • Nearest: The ordered quantity is rounded to a full value of the nearest rounding target.
            • User Exit: Suggest: The ordered quantity is rounded off per project customization.

The unit of measure with the highest sort number must have the rounding rule Never.
