Considerations and Validations for Tours on the Consumer Goods Cloud Desktop App
When you create or modify a tour, the system performs certain checks. Consider these checks when you manage tours.
Required Editions
| Available in: Lightning Experience in Professional, Enterprise, and Unlimited Editions that have Consumer Goods Cloud enabled |
Consider these checks when you create a tour:
- The mandatory fields aren’t blank.
- Start Date Time is in the correct format (hh:mm; from 00:00-23:59) and can't be after the End Date time.
- Valid From can’t be after Valid Thru. Tour referencing the route must be within the validity period of the route (Route.Valid From <= Tour.Start Date Time and Route.Valid Thru => Tour.End Date Time).
- Trailer 1 doesn't hold the same value as Trailer 2.
- Default Truck can be vehicles of the Vehicle Type = 'Truck Slow' or 'Truck Fast' and must be a part of the active vehicle list for Start Warehouse.
- Trailer 1 and Trailer 2 fields can be vehicles of the Vehicle Type = 'Trailer' and must be a part of the active vehicle list for Start Warehouse.
- The Start Warehouse field can't be blank.
- Start Warehouse, End Warehouse, Truck, Trailer 1, and Trailer 2 must have the same sales org as Tour.
- Truck, Trailer 1, and Trailer 2 must be part of the Start Warehouse and End Warehouse.
- If the Consider Multiple Warehouses field in the referencing tour template (using the route template) is selected as No, then the End Warehouse field is preset with the Start Warehouse field value and is non-editable.
- If the Consider Multiple Warehouses field in the referencing tour template (using the route template) is selected as Yes, then the End Warehouse field is preset with the Start Warehouse field value and is editable.
- If the Consider Vehicle field in the referencing tour template is selected as Truck, then the system validates that a truck is assigned to the route.
- If the Consider Vehicle field in the referencing tour template is selected as 'Truck + Trailer', then the system validates that a truck and trailer 1 are assigned to the route.
- If the Consider Vehicle field in the referencing tour template is selected as 'Truck + Trailer 1,2', then the system validates that a truck, trailer 1, and trailer 2 are assigned to the route.
- The Default Driver and Co-Driver of a tour and route must be part of the Start Warehouse and End Warehouse.
- Product check-out or SKU checkout isn’t supported on the Consumer Goods Cloud desktop app.
- The warehouse administrator can create tours in the Initial status and the tour must be editable in the Initial phase. Tours in the Initial status aren’t yet finalized.
Consider these checks when you edit a tour:
- You can edit only the end-of-day tour checks if the status is Running.
- If the status is Canceled or Completed, you can’t edit tour checks, a tour, and its associated references.
- You can edit start-of-day tour checks only if the status is Open.
- You can’t edit the sales org after tour creation.
- To change the tour status to Running, all start-of-day tour checks must be completed.
- To change the tour status to Completed, all end-of-day tour checks must be completed.
Consider these checks when you delete a tour:
- You can’t delete the tour because it completed visits or if there’s an active reference to the tour.
- When you delete a tour that is created by using a route, both the tour and the route are deleted.
Consider these checks when you cancel a tour:
- The Cancel Information section is shown only when the status is Canceled.
- Cancel Reason is required if the tour status is Canceled.
- If a visit is completed or abandoned, you can't cancel a tour.
- When a tour is canceled, visits added to the tour are canceled.
