          Create a Standard Segment

          Create a Standard Segment

Utilize the Salesforce Standard Data Model (DMO) to build segments and create segment filters from its attributes.

          Required Editions

Available in: Lightning Experience in Enterprise and Unlimited Editions that have Consumer Goods Cloud enabled
          1. In Data Cloud, select Segments, and select New.
          2. Select Use a Visual Builder.
          3. Select Standard Segment, and then click Next.
          4. Enter the segment details.
          5. Select a data space.
          6. For Segment On, select the data model object (DMO) that your segment is built on.
Segment On defines the target object used to build your segment. For example, you can build a segment for the Retail Store where the Delivery Method is Van. The target object chosen determines which attributes are available in the attribute library that you can use as segment filters.
          7. Give your segment a unique name that’s easily identifiable.
          8. Click Next
          9. Choose how to publish the segment.
With Standard Publish, you can use the last 2 years of engagement data in segmentation rules. With Rapid Publish, you can use the last 7 days of engagement data in segmentation rules and publish to Marketing Cloud only.
          10. Define when and how often your segment publishes to activation targets.
          11. If you plan to add segment filters, you can also select Don’t Refresh and add the schedule later.
          12. Click Save.
