Set up providers as service resources. Set up facilities as service territories, and associate providers to a service territory by using service territory members. You can specify operating hours for the service territory and for service territory members. You must also specify operating hours in healthcare practitioner facility records.
There are a few ways to set up operating hours.
- From the Operating Hours tab.
Create operating hours this way for service territories (facilities).
- From a service territory member record (which links a provider to a facility for
scheduling), click Add Time Slots in the Operating Hours card.
To access this record, open a service territory record and click the Related tab to view the Service Territory Members related list. Or from a service resource record, go to the Service Territories related list.
- From a work type record (which represents a type of visit), click Add Time Slots in the Operating Hours card.
Here’s how to set up operating hours from the Operating Hours tab.
-
From the App Launcher, find and select Salesforce Scheduler
Setup.
This app opens up multiple object tabs, including Service Territories, Service Resources, Operating Hours, and Work Types.
- Go to the Operating Hours tab.
- Click New.
- Enter a name for the operating hours and select a time zone.
- To add a time slot, under Set Service Appointment Windows, click Add Row.
-
Select a day, start time, and end time for the time slot.
Optionally,
select a work type.
If the end time is on the next day, that time slot appears in the next day’s column while scheduling an appointment. For example, the start time is 8:00 PM on Tuesday and the end time is 12:00 AM on Wednesday. The time slot appears in the column for Wednesday and not in the column for Tuesday.
-
If Concurrent Scheduling is enabled in Salesforce Scheduler, you can also define time slots
for concurrent appointments and specify the maximum number of appointments in a time slot.
Under Set Concurrent Service Appointment Windows, click Add Row. For
more information, see Define Time Slots for Concurrent
Scheduling.
Note Create concurrent time slots only for those operating hours that you plan to assign to service territory members. During appointment scheduling, only the concurrent time slots in the service territory member’s operating hours are available for selection. Any concurrent time slots in the work type’s or service territory’s operating hours aren’t available. For details about configuration requirements for concurrent scheduling using shifts, see Set Up Concurrent Scheduling for Intelligent Appointment Management. - Save your changes.
-
If you haven’t already done so, add operating hours to healthcare practitioner facility
records.
To show time slots in the correct time zones, Intelligent Appointment Management requires that a healthcare practitioner facility and its related service territory specify the same operating hours. During appointment scheduling, Intelligent Appointment Management shows time slots in the time zone of the logged-in user.
Sync data for Provider Search to confirm that the operating hours data is shown in the Care Provider Searchable Field object.
