Although providers are already represented as contacts or person accounts for Intelligent
Appointment Management, you must also represent them as service resources for Salesforce
Scheduler.
For asset scheduling, if you haven’t already done so, add the Asset field to the service
resource page layout.
From the App Launcher, find and select Salesforce Scheduler
Setup.
This app opens up multiple object tabs, including Service Territories, Service Resources,
Work Types, and Operating Hours.
Go to the Service Resources tab.
Click New.
For provider scheduling, select a provider user and enter a resource
name—typically, the user's name. For Resource Type, select
Technician.
For asset scheduling, select an asset and enter a resource name. For Resource Type,
select Asset.
Select Active to be able to assign the resource to
appointments.
