          Create Appointment Modes

          Create Appointment Modes

An appointment scheduled with a provider or with an asset such as a clinic can take place over phone, video, or in person. Add appointment modes to the Default Appointment Type field in the Work Type object if you use an external scheduling system or you use operatng hours in Salesforce Scheduler. If you use shifts in Salesforce Scheduler, skip this task and use engagement channels instead.

          Important
Important To use the video visit feature, configuring Appointment Modes is required.
          1. From Setup, click Object Manager.
          2. Select Work Type.
          3. Select Fields & Relationships, and then select Default Appointment Type.
          4. In the Default Appointment Type Picklist Values section, click New.
          5. Enter the picklist values, such as Phone, In Person, or Video. Each value goes on its own line.
          6. Save your changes.

Lightning Design System provides utility icons that you can use on lightning pages. Salesforce Scheduler uses utility icons to show icons for appointment types. By default, the API name of a picklist value is the same as the picklist value. Salesforce Scheduler verifies whether the API name of a Default Appointment Type picklist value matches the name of a utility icon that Lightning Design System provides. If the names match, Salesforce Scheduler uses the icon with the same name. If the names don't match, Salesforce Scheduler uses the default lightning icon.

To edit the icons for appointment types, edit the API names and then enter the names of utility icons that you want to use.
