          Add the Events and Milestones Component to a Record Page

          To make the list of events or milestones available on a record page, add the Person Life Events or Business Milestones related list to the corresponding page layout. Then, add the Events or Business Milestones component to a person account, contact, party relationship group, or business or household account record page.

          To access the Events or Milestones component:

          Note
          Note If you disabled Chatter, then to use the Events and Milestone component, give users access to Salesforce CRM Content by assigning feature licenses. To assign feature licenses to users automatically, from Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Salesforce CRM Content, select Salesforce CRM Content, and then select Autoassign feature licenses to existing and new users.

          The filter on the Events and Milestones component is designed to filter based on the starting date only, without considering an end date. For example, Previous 6 months include any past events from 6 months ago as well as any future event dates.

          When viewing a household on a business account or party relationship group record page, users can filter the list by Event Type and Household Member. Click the settings icon on the component to select the specific event types and members to display.

          1. Add the Business Milestones related list to the Account page layout. Add the Person Life Events related list to the Person Account and Contact page layouts.
            1. From Setup, open Object Manager.
            2. In the Quick Find box, enter Account, and then select Account.
            3. Click Page Layouts, and then select the relevant page layout.
            4. On the palette, select Related Lists.
            5. Drag Business Milestones from the palette to the Related Lists section on the page, and save your changes. If you’re prompted to overwrite the user’s related list customizations, click Yes.
            6. Similarly, add the Person Life Events related list to the relevant page layouts for the Person Account and Contact objects.
              Note
              Note The Person Life Events related list is available only when person account is enabled in your org.
          2. Add the Events and Milestones component to a person account, account, or contact record page.
            1. On the record page that you want to add the component to, from Setup, select Edit Page.
            2. Drag the Events and Milestones component to the page.
            3. Note
              Note Life events are visible by default on the party relationship group record page.
              To display the life events of a household on an account record page, select Show household life events.
            4. If you want to hide the default new action plan quick action, select Hide new action plan quick action.
            5. Save your changes.
            Important
            Important Even if you have only Read-Only access to the parent entity of Business Milestone, you can update your business milestones if the default access level for Business Milestone is set as Controlled by Parent. Even if you have only Read-Only access to the parent entity of Person Life Event, you can update your person life events if the default access level for Person Life Event is set as Controlled by Parent.
