Service Process Automation streamlines and automates your service operations. Design
case-driven service processes from request intake to fulfillment by using either the Unified
Catalog or Service Process Studio. Both the frameworks use Omniscripts to capture request
details across assisted and self-service channels. They also use prebuilt flows to automate
fulfillment steps and record updates.

Service Process Automation with Unified Catalog Use the Unified Catalog to set up and manage financial service processes. The Unified Catalog standardizes these processes by defining them as standard products in your Salesforce instance. Manage both financial products and services in one place. Deploy service processes quickly by using prebuilt templates. You can also add or modify data attributes visually by using a Data Mapper instead of writing custom Apex code.
Service Process Automation with Service Process Studio Design and build custom service processes by using Service Process Studio. Service Process Studio provides a dedicated environment to build case-driven processes from the ground up. This framework uses custom setup objects, such as SvcCatalogItemDef, to define service attributes. It relies on the Service Process Connect API to generate case requests. Modifying or adding new data attributes in this framework requires writing custom Apex code.
Self Service Let your customer community users initiate service processes directly from a self-service portal, such as the Financial Services Client Portal. When you make the service processes available with a self-service portal, you allow your customers to raise service process requests at any time, from anywhere.
