          Validate Flexible Hierarchies

          Validate Flexible Hierarchies

If a hierarchy is valid, it indicates that the structure has passed all integrity checks and is ready for production use. The valid status controls visibility and data integrity as the hierarchy evolves. To enable viewing and subsequent updates to a hierarchy, validate it.

To validate hierarchies: Flexible Hierarchy Admin

When you use the UI-based hierarchy builder to create a hierarchy, its status is set to Valid by default. Because the system performs real-time validation every time a new node is added, and the structure is constantly verified for consistency. If a hierarchy's status is set to Valid:

          • It’s visible to end users in both Grid and Graph views.
          • It’s ready to be used for reporting or business processes.

You can validate a hierarchy manually on a record page, or in bulk from the List View page, or externally through the Public API.

Validation is performed asynchronously in the background, creates a job, and sends an email upon completion. During validation, hierarchies are locked for editing. All validation errors are updated in the Validation Error field of the corresponding flexible hierarchy record page.

          1. To validate a hierarchy from the record page:
            1. From the App Launcher, find and select Flexible Hierarchies.
            2. Click and open a flexible hierarchy record page.
            3. From the quick action menu, select Validate.
          2. To validate hierarchies in bulk:
            1. From the App Launcher, find and select Flexible Hierarchies.
            2. Click Validate.
          3. To validate hierarchies by using API, use the Flexible Hierarchies Bulk Validation endpoint.
          4. To check the validation errors, open the corresponding flexible hierarchy node record page, and note the details from the validation error field.
For more information on validation errors and recommended actions to resolve them, see Validation Errors for Hierarchies.
