Financial Intermediary Onboarding Journey for Digital Lending
The Financial Intermediary Onboarding Journey digitizes the third-party partnership
lifecycle, from intermediary firm user registration and due diligence to employee provisioning.
After approval, intermediaries use a secure portal to originate loans and collaborate with
lenders on documents. Use this workflow to replace manual processes with automated orchestration
for a transparent, compliant path to loan production.

The onboarding journey takes an intermediary firm from initial registration and lender
approval to employee provisioning within Salesforce. After onboarding, loan originators use
the portal to originate loans and collaborate with lending institutions on documentation.
Firm Registration
A relationship manager from the intermediary firm visits the lending institution’s website
and begins the onboarding process as an unauthenticated guest user. The manager enters
fundamental information about the intermediary firm to establish the firm’s profile. This
initial step sets the stage for further interactions and verifications that would follow as
part of the complete onboarding procedure.
Lender Approval
A partner relationship manager at the bank performs due diligence to verify that the
intermediary firm meets all necessary standards. The manager verifies the firm’s licenses
and compliance with regulatory requirements through a carefully staged orchestration
process. This process involves specific checks and validations, such as confirming the
authenticity of licenses, reviewing compliance documents, and assessing the firm’s adherence
to industry standards. After completing this verification process, the partner relationship
manager approves the firm after confirming it’s fully qualified to operate within the bank’s
network.
Internal Management and Provisioning
After the firm completes the registration process, the lending institution admin creates an
intermediary firm admin user with full access to the portal. This admin logs into the portal
to onboard employees, such as loan originators, and assigns them role-based access
permissions. In addition, they also monitor and update access as needed to maintain security
and operational efficiency.
Product & Pricing Configuration
Configure the product catalog, pricing, and offers for intermediary partners. Control the
product selection available to each broker in the intermediary firm.
Loan Origination and Collaboration
Loan originators use guided Discovery Framework Omniscripts to apply for loans on behalf of
customers. After the application is submitted, loan originators can use the portal to
monitor its progress and receive updates. This helps them address any issues promptly,
which provides a smooth and efficient loan application experience.
When the lending institution needs updates or more documentation, they create action items
and use record stage components within the secure portal. This prompts the intermediary to
address the required updates directly in the system. By keeping all communication and
collaboration within the portal, the process remains secure, organized, and efficient,
reducing reliance on external emails and maintaining a clear record of all interactions.
