A lending institution wants to present borrowers with personalized loan offers where the interest rate reflects their creditworthiness. Rather than quoting a single fixed rate, the institution adjusts the base rate of the personal loan product up or down based on the applicant’s credit score. For example, when the applicant’s credit score is between 701 and 800, the list rate is adjusted by 10%. This gives borrowers a transparent, real-time offer while protecting the institution from underpricing risk.

          Example
          Example

The institution stores a base interest rate for the personal loan product in a product list rate record. A Rate Adjustment By Credit Score custom object defines how the list rate changes across credit score tiers — for instance, when the applicant’s credit score is between 701 and 800, the list rate of the personal loan product is adjusted by 10%.

A product list rate decision table determines the list rate percentage based on the product ID, and a credit score based adjustment decision table determines the tier type and tier value based on the product ID. Both decision tables are added to the NGPDefaultRecipe pricing recipe so the pricing procedure can calculate the final adjusted rate.

A credit score attribute definition is assigned to the personal loan product classification. The credit score attribute can be hidden so that an applicant can’t input a credit score value. Instead, the applicant’s credit score is retrieved from the party credit profile object on the DigitalLendingProductConfigurator Omniscript.
