Stage Management for Digital Lending

Use Stage Management to automate and manage business process stages and gain control over the record stage progress. For Digital Lending, it restricts the Stage field values on an Application Form Product, allowing only defined transitions. You can offer applicants customizable actions after each transition. Define stage transition criteria on the Application Form Product object and create a transition plan for each process stage. Following each transition, Compliant Data Sharing participant records are created and updated to manage user visibility levels throughout the application process.

To set up Stage Management for Digital Lending using Salesforce features, follow the steps listed in this section.

A transition is any change to the value in the Stage field on an Application Form Product. A defined set of transitions prevents applicants from updating the stage to invalid values. For example, create a stage definition that enables the transition of the stage from Intake to Submitted, but prevents the transition from Submitted to Intake.

To set up Stage Management, use Compliant Data Sharing to govern data accessibility for users on the Application Form, Application Form Product, and Party Profile objects. Next, create a mapping between the participant role name and participant role ID using an Apex class and a flow. The user access level, visibility status, and stage value are determined by three decision matrices when the application form product is in a defined stage, such as Intake and Contract Generation. Finally, create and activate the Digital Lending Stage Management transitions.
