This feature requires the use of Salesforce Scheduler as the back-end scheduling
system.
If you haven't already done so, complete the Salesforce Scheduler prerequisites for
capacity-based scheduling.
Run a script that verifies that none of the existing Shift Work Topic records have the
All Topics Supported field enabled. The script deletes such shift work topics and then
creates individual shift work topics for all the work types or work type groups.
Configure shifts.
Complete the prerequisite tasks and then, in Setup, enable Multiple Topics for
Shifts.
In Setup, enable Capacity-Based Scheduling. Then update the capacity
of your shift work topics.
By default, after you enable capacity-based scheduling, the capacity of your shift work
topics is set to 0. To populate capacity values in your shift work topics, you can run a script
or manually set the capacity for the shift work topics.
Specify the type of limit to use in service territories and the maximum capacity for
shifts.
In service territories, for Service Appointment Limit Type, select either
Maximum Limit or Achievable Limit.
In shifts, for Maximum Appointment Capacity, set the maximum number of appointments that
can be scheduled.
Add the Service Territory Capacity Summary component to the service resource or service
territory page.
