Configuration
- To create a group service appointment, you must configure both the Work Type and the Shift records with the group appointment category.
- You must set the attendee limit on the work type. Setting the attendee limit for the shift is optional.
- For Shift records, you can only use regular or group categories for group appointments. Drop In categories aren’t supported.
- To support group appointment management in My Appointments in the customer portal, grant customer portal users Service Appointment Attendee object access and field-level security on the Status and Attendee Type fields.
- The work type appointment category determines if a user can schedule a service appointment as a group appointment. To support group service appointments, the associated shift must also support group appointments. If the service appointment is scheduled as a group appointment, attendee limits apply.
Appointment Management
- A single group service appointment can include a maximum of 50 attendees (patients + attendees combined).
- For virtual care, the maximum participant count is 8, including the primary patient and provider. This cap is applied with the appointment is created or modified.
- Guest customer portal users can’t create group appointments.
- Guest customer portal users can cancel appointments They can Cancel for all or choose Unenroll yourself, which removes the user from the appointment, but doesn’t cancel the appointment for other attendees.
- Attendees can’t modify group appointments. Only primary patients and service resources (providers) can modify group appointments.
- You can't add the primary patient as an attendee on the same service appointment. However, a provider can be both a service resource and an attendee.
