          Create an Agent to Manage athenahealth Patient Details

          To help contact center reps quickly register patients, manage patient data, create patient cases, and create medication requests (prescription refills) in athenahealth, create a contact center agent and then customize the Patient Data Management subagent.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited Editions with the Agentforce for Health Cloud, Universal Credit Metering, and Agentforce Employee Agent add-on licenses
          User Permissions Needed
          To build an Agent and manage subagents:

          Contact Center Agent for Health Cloud

          AND

          Manage AI Agents

          AND

          Manage Agentforce Employee Agents

          1. Enable the Generic FHIR Client.
            1. In the Available Assets section of the MuleSoft Direct page, select Enable for the Generic FHIR Client.
            2. Enter a name, and select a business group, environment, and deployment target.
            3. Select Next.
            4. Select Client Credentials.
            5. Enter your athenahealth information in the Base URL, Token URL, Client Secret, and Client ID fields.
            6. Create an additional parameter for the athenahealth Practice ID.

              To do this, add an additional configuration parameter named "ah-practice" and set its value to the assigned practice ID. For example: a-195900.E-3778. athenahealth APIs are scoped by practice, and the ah-practice parameter determines the practice with which the Generic FHIR Client communicates.

            7. Select Proceed.
            8. View the Generic FHIR Client app from MuleSoft Exchange and make note of the username and password. You’ll need them when you create named credentials.
          2. Enable the athenahealth Integration Client.
            1. In the Available Assets section of the MuleSoft Direct page, select Enable for the athenahealth Integration Client.
            2. Enter a name, and select a business group, environment, and deployment target.
            3. Select Next.
            4. Enter your athenahealth Base URL, athenahealth Client Secret, and athenahealth Client ID.
            5. Enter a boolean value in Ignore Schedulable Permissions.
            6. Select Proceed.
            7. View the athenahealth Integration Client app from MuleSoft Exchange and make note of the username and password, and app URL. You’ll need them when you create named credentials.
          3. Create an external credential.
            1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Named Credential, and then select Named Credential.
            2. Select External Credentials, and then select New.
            3. Enter a label and name, and then select Basic Authentication in the Authentication Protocol field.
            4. Save your work.
            5. Create two principals with these values:
              Parameter Name Identity Type Username Password
              authentication Named Principal Your Generic FHIR Client app username Your Generic FHIR Client app password
              accesstoken Named Principal Your athenahealth Integration Client app username Your athenahealth Integration Client app password
            6. Enable the accesstoken and authentication External Credential Principals for the System Administrator profile.
          4. Create a named credential.
            1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Named Credential, and then select Named Credential.
            2. Select New.
            3. Enter a label and name.
            4. In the URL field, enter the Generic FHIR Client app URL.
            5. In the External Credential field, select the external credential created in step 3.
            6. Save your work.
            7. Create two custom headers with these values:
              Name Value
              skipValidation true
              baseUrl Your athenahealth Integration Client app URL
          5. Set Up Agentforce for Contact Center. Set the Named Credential field to the named credential created in step 4.
          6. Create an Agent for Contact Center.
          7. Customize the Patient Data Management subagent to gather the patient data required by athenahealth from the user.
