Different types of services require different skills from the caregivers who perform
them. Additionally, patients often have different preferences for their caregivers. Use the Skills
page in Setup to define both caregiver skills and patient preferences.
Required Editions
Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions with Health Cloud and
the Home Health Add-on license
User Permissions Needed
Create and update skills in Setup:
Customize Application
Note While not every preference technically qualifies as a skill, Health Cloud represents all of
them in the Skill metadata type.
Define a skill type and then define a skill.
In Setup, enter Skill Types in the Quick Find box and select
Skill Types.
Click New.
Enter a name and developer name for the skill type.
Save the Skill Type.
Enter Skills in the Quick Find box and select
Skill in the Skill Settings section.
Click New.
Enter a name, developer name, and description for the skill.
Select the skill’s type in the Skill Type field.
Save your skill.
