Get Your Org Ready to Use Home Health
Before you get started with Home Health, complete a few standard tasks to prepare your org for the feature. Create profiles for your users and manage permission set assignments. You must also make changes to certain objects and generate the default scheduling policy.

Tip We also recommend updating object labels so that your end users see tab names
commonly used in the home healthcare industry. We’ve provided an interface in the Home Health
Settings page that helps you update labels for multiple objects in one go. However, remember
to communicate the new names to your users. Our documentation always uses the original names
of objects.
- Create Profile and User Records for Home Health
Users with different roles work on different aspects of Home Health. Schedulers work desk jobs and schedule visits for home healthcare services. Care resources work in the field and visit patient homes to provide care for patients. Based on the access to clinical data, you can further classify care resources as clinicians and caregivers. Based on your organization’s roles and personas, set up profiles for these users. - Assign Permission Sets for Home Health Users
Home Health offers standard permission sets that you can assign to your users according to their roles. - Update the Field-Level Security Permissions for Clinicians and Caregivers
To help your clinicians and caregivers easily manage patient home visits, clone the Home Health Clinician and Home Health Caregiver permission sets and enable the field level access for the required fields. - Update the Field-Level Security Permissions for Care Coordinators
To help your care coordinators easily manage quoting and budgeting, clone the Home Health Quote permission set and enable field level access for the required fields. - Update the Field-Level Security Permissions for Patients
To help your patients easily view and manage home healthcare details on the Home Health patient portal, clone the Home Health Patient permission set and enable field level access for the required fields. - Configure the Work Order Object
Configure the Work Order object to use Home Health and improve its experience on the mobile app. Update the page layout with the Patient Detail Lightning and Mobile action and create a Home Health record type. - Home Health Default Scheduling Policy
Scheduling policies determine how the Field Service engine matches patients with care resources in the field for their visits. Home Health offers a default scheduling policy that you can use to accelerate your implementation. - Create a Bundle Policy for Group Visits
Enable your home health agency to schedule group visits by defining an appointment bundle policy. Bundle policies determine how Home Health combines multiple patient visits into a single group visit. - Set Up Dependent Home Visits
Enable your home health agency to support dependent visits where two care resources cater to the same patient at the same time. Dependent visits provide care continuity to patients and help improve their overall health outcomes. - Clone and Activate the Create Home Visit Dependency Flow
Optimize the scheduling process for dependent home visits by setting up the Create Home Visit Dependency flow. Simply clone the default flow and activate it. - Create a Custom Notification for Dependent Home Visits
Create a custom notification to send in-app notifications about dependent visits. When schedulers create dependent visits, the Create Home Visit Dependency flow creates the appointment dependency record and uses this custom notification to send a success notification. However, if the record creation fails, the flow sends a failure notification instead so that schedulers can manually create the appointment dependency record. - Enable the Most Recent Reschedule Home Healthcare Visit Flow
Before your users can use the most recent version of the Reschedule Home Healthcare Visit flow to reschedule recurring visits, turn it on from the Home Health Settings page. - Enable the Schedule Home Healthcare Visit flow
Streamline patient care by enabling schedulers to create and manage home health visits directly from a patient's record page by activating the Schedule Home Healthcare Visit flow. Schedulers can set up an initial start-of-care visit, schedule recurring visits by using advanced recurrence options, or create visits based on patient requests.
