          Guidelines on Care Gap Updates

Care gaps are critical healthcare data that determine the timeliness and quality of care a patient receives. To ensure data reliability, Health Cloud restricts updates to certain fields in care gap records depending on the record origin type.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience

Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions with Health Cloud or Life Sciences Cloud

Whether a care gap is calculated, imported, or manually created, you can’t update the Record Origin Type field after the record is created. The record origin type determines the actions you can perform on other fields.

Consult this table to understand which actions you can perform on the Measure Evaluation Status and Status Reason fields for each record origin type.

Record Origin Type Measure Evaluation Status Status Reason
          Calculated

You can’t update manual type statuses to evaluation type statuses.

If status is Evaluating, updates are restricted in the Care Gap interface but enabled in record pages.

          Required for manual type statuses.
Imported Only manual type statuses are possible values. Required for manual type statuses.
Manually Created Only manual type statuses are possible values. Required for manual type statuses.
