Configure the Add Basic Medication Details Flow

Configure the Add Basic Medication Details Flow

Help your clinicians to add medications more quickly by using the built-in Add Basic Medication Details flow instead of the Add Patient Medication flow. Depending on your business needs, you can use this time-saving flow and associate it with the Patient Medication Manager lightning component.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience

Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions with Health Cloud

          User Permissions Needed
To configure the flow: Read on accounts
          1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Flows, and then select Flows.
          2. Go to the Add Basic Medication Details flow.
          3. Update these variables, as necessary.
            • To create medication-related records when a clinician adds a medication, set the isCreateRelatedRecords variable to True. Medication-related records include medication dispense, medication request, patient medication dosage, and medication statement detail. By default, the variable is set to False.
            • To use the default status of Inactive for newly added medications, set the defaultStatus variable to Inactive. By default, the variable is set to Active. Depending on your business needs, you can also set the variable to any other value listed in the Status picklist of the Medication Statement object such as Completed, Intended, or Stopped.
          4. Save your changes.
          5. Go to the Lightning App Builder from the Person Account record page. On the Patient Medication Manager component, select the Add Basic Medication Details flow from the Add Medication Flow dropdown menu.

Now, when your clinicians start adding a medication, the Add Basic Medication Details flow is triggered.
