          Create Referrals from Inbound Documents

          Create Referrals from Inbound Documents

Transform documents received by email and fax into clinical service requests. You can automate referral creation by designing a workflow that uses Intelligent Document Automation features and the Process Received Document invocable action.

          Available in: Lightning Experience

Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions with Health Cloud

The Process Received Document invocable action uses text extracted from received documents to populate details about the patient and the procedure or diagnostic service requested. For example, route received documents to an intake queue and then to a transformed document queue.

          • Create a queue for newly received documents, and another queue for documents that have had their data extracted.

          • Use a record-triggered flow to move newly received documents to the inbound documents queue.

          • Use another record-triggered flow to move documents that have had their data extracted to the processed documents queue. If a Received Document record’s OcrStatus triggers the flow, select the option to include a Run Asynchronously path. Including this path helps prevent errors if something goes wrong with the Process Received Document invocable action that runs in the background.

Make sure users who manage referrals have access to the IsAccepted field on the Clinical Service Request object.
